QUILT GUILDS THAT HOST THE SHOW



The Kent Sussex Quilt Guild




The Kent Sussex Quilt Guild is a non proifit organization,
and is the collaborative effort of four quilt guilds
in Kent and Sussex Counties, Delaware.
Representatives from Delmarvalous, Helping Hands, Ocean Waves and Piecemakers form a committee
in the odd numbered years to plan and produce a quilt show.
Members of each of the guilds are welcome to enter any quilts they have made during the year.

Delmarvalous Quilt Guild




Delmarvalous Quilt Guild was organized in March 1983.
Having celebrated its 25th anniversary recently,
it is the oldest area guild.
Membership has grown from 50 women to over 110, all interested in perpetuating the heritage of quilting and promoting fellowship.

Meetings are held at the University of Delaware Research and Education Center (substation) on Route 9, Georgetown, DE,
the 4th Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Meetings offer workshops and guest speakers, and members are encouraged to bring quilts and quilt-related items to “show and tell”.

Dues are $15.00 annually.

The current President is Carol Jarboe.





Helping Hands





Helping Hands of Dover was founded in 1996,
and currently has about 120 members.
The guild’s primary goals are to stimulate an interest
in quilt and advance the art of quilting.
To achieve these goals,
the guild brings in guests from the professional quilting community
and uses their very talented members for lectures and workshops.
There are also activities simply for the entertainment
and enjoyment of members.
They have a very active committee called “Quilting-For-Others”.

Meetings at the First Baptist Church of Dover, 301 Walker Road, Dover, DE, on the 4th Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

The current President is Marti Chamberlain.





OCEAN WAVES





Ocean Waves of Lewes, DE, was established in 1997,
and has close to 200 members.
In addition to promoting quilting, its mission is education:
a teaching guild offering educational programs and many classes for members.
They also have ongoing charitable activities.

Meetings are held at the Lewes Presbyterian Church, Lewes, DE,
the first Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m.

The current President is Pat Kost.




Piecemakers




Piecemakers of Milford was established in 1992,
and has grown to about 90 members.
The goals of the guild are to bring together persons
interested in quilts and quilt making.
They offer demonstrations, guest lectures, trunk shows, workshops
and hands-on activities to help expand members’ quilting skills.
Several spin-off bees have been organized by members to further meet their needs and interests.

Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
at the Milford Parks and Recreation Building, 2nd Street, Milford.

The current President is Debbie Coverdale.
